Gradually Remote Lake comes into view through the trees on the right and the trail passes along a narrow ridge separating this large lake from a much smaller, unnamed lake on the left. There is a lean-to shelter on this ridge. Nearby, short trails lead down to the shore of Remote Lake. A small, red pine-covered island sits 70-80 yards off the shore opposite one of these trails.
